A great report that helps better educate how items are planned is a decile report. Based on a period of time, items are grouped into deciles 10, 20, 30, etc and can see the sales, margin, sku productivity and inventory position. For instance 10 decile represents the top 10% of sales. Performance here will look much different from 80, 90 and 100. I helps frame conversations with merchants on productivity, that all SKUs y aren't all going to be winners but also shows what a winner looks like and how we should plan for it proactively and make sure we purchase enough on top items.
