What's new
Data Scope and permissions now apply to Rationalization. Each person only sees and works with the Rationalization data for the part of the product hierarchy they have access to, the same way it already works in Merchandise Plan and Assortment Plan.

What you can do
  • Assign Rationalization access by role
    โ€“ In
    Settings โ†’ Roles
    , add the new
    Rationalization Module Read
    or
    Rationalization Module Edit
permission to a role, then pair it with a Data Scope.
  • Give view-only access
โ€“ With Read access, people can browse the Rationalization data in their scope, but they can't make overrides, seed, or rebuild scenarios.
  • Let planners make changes within their scope
โ€“ With Edit access, people can update Rationalization data for their assigned part of the hierarchy, and nothing outside it.
  • Rely on scope everywhere in Rationalization
โ€“ Data Scope applies to partitions, choices, and related data, so nobody sees data outside their scope by accident.
  • Combine roles without surprises
โ€“ If someone has more than one role, their permissions and Data Scopes are combined the same way they are in MFP and AP.
  • Open Rationalization from AP Summary
โ€“ Rationalization is opened from Assortment Summary, so Rationalization Module Edit also gives access to Assortment Summary.
Why it helps
  • Each team works only with the categories it owns, which keeps Rationalization focused and uncluttered.
  • Protect data from accidental edits by giving view-only access to people who just need to review it.
  • Set up permissions once, the same way across MFP, AP, and Rationalization.
