๐Ÿ“‰ Trend Dampening

What's new
Retrend now supports Trend Dampening, so a recent sales trend doesn't push your forecast in the same direction forever โ€” its influence fades over time and the forecast eases back toward your original plan.
What you can do
  • Control how long a trend sticks around
โ€“ Set a Grace Window to keep the retrend effect at full strength for a set number of weeks before it starts to fade.
  • Choose how the fade happens
โ€“ Pick Exponential dampening (fades faster at first, then levels off โ€” tune the speed with Half-life) or Linear dampening (fades at a steady, constant rate).
  • Set when it fully resets
โ€“ Use Horizon to define how many weeks out the forecast fully returns to your original, original forecast.
  • Apply it broadly or case-by-case
โ€“ Turn on Trend Dampening globally so it applies to every choice, or enable it for a single choice in the Assortment Plan when it needs its own settings.
  • Preview the effect before committing
โ€“ See how your Grace Window, Dampening Style, Half-life, and Horizon settings shape the forecast right in the configuration window before you save.

Why it helps
  • Keeps a short-term spike or dip from permanently skewing your forecast for the rest of the season.
  • Gives you control over how quickly you trust a new trend versus your original plan.
  • Lets you fine-tune dampening for specific choices that behave differently from the rest of your assortment.
